Your Elder Care and Placement Specialists are trained to help you identify the care options that are best for you or your loved one. We work hand in hand with family and medical practitioners to arrange care with our trusted community partners.
Home health is a wide range of health care services that can be given in the home, usually after an illness or an injury. Some services might include, a visiting nurse, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or wound care. These services are similar to what you would get in rehabilitation facility, and are usually paid for by your insurance (ie. Medicare). While it is usual for home health to be ordered after a surgery or hospital stay, your doctor can order it at any time if it's deemed beneficial to your health. We can assist you with communicating with your doctor to ensure you get the care you need at home.
In home care is a private pay option for non-medical in home care. Caregivers from a licensed agency can provide services such as assistance with: bathing, dressing, cooking, cleaning, activities, toileting etc. In home care is currently not covered by insurance*, and usually has a minimum amount of hours per shift (ie. 4 hours) for service. This is a great option for those wishing to remain in their homes or who just need basic support from time to time.
*Some long term care policies will pay for non-medical in home care.
Hospice Care refers to a method of caring for the patient, not curing the disease or illness that ails them. Hospice services are available to patients of any age, religion, race, or illness. Hospice care is covered under Medicare, Medicaid, most private insurance plans, HMOs, and other managed care organizations. A hospice team (nurses, doctors, social workers), visit the patient where they are residing, and work to control pain and relieve symptoms, as well as provide support.
